Beekeeping Talks
Learn all about how we look after our resident bees – 11th May
Come meet Linda our Beekeeper…
On the Wednesday 11th May in the Auditorium of Building 2000 Lakeside North Harbour, from 1pm to 1.30pm, you’re invited to come and meet our resident beekeeper, Linda, who looks after the ten bee hives we have here on site at Lakeside. Linda has been a beekeeper for over ten years and is passionate about caring for these incredible insects.
Why are bees so important? They provide one of the most recognisable ecosystem services, i.e. pollination, which is what makes food production possible. By doing so, they protect and maintain ecosystems as well as animal and plant species, and contribute to genetic and biotic diversity.
We’re so lucky to work in such a wonderful green environment here at Lakeside and our bees are one of our most important and influential occupiers. If you would like to find out more (and there’s no charge to attend) please come along and join fellow occupiers at Lakeside to learn from Linda.
Plus at the end of the talks there will be a chance to taste some lovely honey courtesy of the bees!
Please book your free ticket here.
See you there…
