Year three of the Lakeside Cup is on it’s way as Lakeside occupiers get ready for more friendly competition at the Lakeside Cup 2026 Five-a-Side Football Tournament on Wednesday 3 June 2026.

For teams of all abilities the competition plays out between 12noon to 4pm at the King George V Football Complex — next to Lakeside.

Who will be crowned 2026 champions. Last year saw Astute take the title following on from Carrington West in year one. Will we see new contenders enter the playing field to challenge for the title, will old rivals push for glory or will we see a former champion lift the cup again.

The Lakeside Cup is the perfect opportunity for everyone working at the Lakeside Business Campus to come together, whether you’re on the pitch playing or cheering from the side-lines. Companies are invited to assemble their best five-a-side teams (five players plus three reserves) and compete for the prestigious Lakeside Trophy. That’s not all – there are also vouchers up for grabs, all players will receive a free lunch and the player who stands out the most will be awarded the Player of the Tournament prize!

The tournament is open to mixed teams of all abilities – everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Following on from last years successful knockout style tournament this year will follow the same format allowing each team to play at least three games. We encourage colleagues to come along and support their teams. The more, the merrier!

Best of all, this event is completely free for all Lakeside occupiers and staff. We are asking Lakeside businesses to rally their teams, and get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of sport and camaraderie.
