Blue Week – Sustainable Commuting

Blue Week – Promoting Sustainable Travel

Lettings Team Commute

Here at Lakeside we’re dedicated to making it easier for people to travel to work actively and sustainably.

Not only do we offer a free shuttle bus service, we also have on-site electric charging points, Voi electric scooters and multiple secure bike storage areas, along with shower facilities.

In recognition of the Blue Week initiative, our lettings team committed to sustainably travel to work and most of them opted to get on their bikes.

Andy Hodgkinson (Lambeth Smith Hampton) has the furthest commute from Winchester, and was surprised at how quickly he got here, although it was downhill most of the way!  On arrival he rewarded himself with a large coffee and cake from The Hub on-site restaurant.  He also took advantage of the shower facilities.  George Pooley who works with Andy, hopped on the free occupiers shuttle bus from Cosham station.

Russell Mogridge (Vail Williams) had a twenty five mile round trip from Fareham, which included a ride on the ferry from Gosport and was joined on the ride by Tim Clark who had a ten mile round trip from Southsea.  Both commented on how easy it was riding via the cycle paths from Portsmouth and plan to make this a regular commute.

Matt Cureton, who works with Russell, opted for a walk from Hilsea and unfortunately it was raining by the time he arrived at Lakeside.  The weather didn’t dampen his commitment to sustainable travel.

Meanwhile Emma Parkin, who works in our marketing team, chose a sunny day to ride her bike to work!
