The Green Partnership is excited to announce that bookings are now open for Climate Ready Portsmouth, taking place on Monday 18th November from 9:00am to 1:30pm at Lakeside North Harbour.

This free event is designed for businesses and institutions looking to explore practical approaches to decarbonisation and climate resilience. Through engaging discussions and collaborative insights, we’ll examine how working together can help tackle the challenges of climate change at scale.

We recently reached out asking for nominations for our 2026 Charity of the Year, as our 2024/25 partnership with Portsmouth Hospitals Charity soon comes to an end, and we weren’t disappointed.

From the high calibre of applications we have selected the finalists for our occupiers to vote from.

Occupiers have been given access to each charities application details to enable them to make an informed decision as to who they think our next deserving Lakeside Charity of the Year should be.

The help and support of our occupiers in choosing our next Charity of the Year will enable us to help one of these very worthy organisations to raise their profile and increase funds.

Lakeside are gearing up for a week of sustainability-focused fun as part of Recycle Week. Here’s what’s happening:

Recycle week: Lakeside Tote Bag Giveaway- Recycle & Be Rewarded, with Hube and the Gang

• From Monday 22nd to Friday 26th September, Reception’s 1000 and 2000 Lakeside will be running a week-long tote bag giveaway for occupiers who help to recycle the Top 5 Most Missed Items across the UK.

Recycle Week: Eco Drift Pop-Up at Reception 1000

• As part of our Recycle Week celebrations, Lakeside will welcome Eco Drift to site on Tuesday 23rd September for a special pop-up event in Reception 1000.

Recycle Week: Refresh your wardrobe sustainably at our clothes swap event

• On Wednesday 24th September Lakeside are excited to invite occupiers to the upcoming Clothes Swap Event — a fun and eco-friendly way to refresh your wardrobe while reducing waste.

Recycle Week: HIPPO Waste Rolls In with a 26-Tonne Message

• On Thursday 25th September, HIPPO will be bringing in their 26-tonne grab truck, complete with a crane and the ever-popular HIPPO mascot, to help shine a spotlight on how we manage and recycle our waste responsibly.

Alongside these Recycle Week specific events the Lakeside book swap will still be available in the Winter Garden and near the Amazon lockers located in B2000. The Hub will also be saving their coffee grinds for keen composters.

There’s a great line up of guest speakers at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Business Bootcamp here at Lakeside on 18 June and it’s free of charge to attend. There’s no need to be an FSB member either, all small business owners and self-employed people are welcome. This is a great opportunity to take part in the FSB community.

The bootcamp will be hosted by FSB Member Rob Dewing, owner of Northerwood, a website development company based in Hampshire. An avid networker, Rob has also volunteered for FSB as FSB Regional Chair for South Central England.

Alongside guest speaker Rob there will be expert speakers throughout the day, giving their top tips which you can put into practice and take back to your business to help you ride the waves in 2025.

Lakeside have teamed up with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust colleagues to challenge occupiers to a wild outdoor escape room puzzle on Wednesday 6 August.

Linking wildlife themed education with lunchtime networking, occupiers can join as teams within their own business groups or as individuals to network with new people.

With great prizes on offer who will help the Wildlife Trust Ecologist solve the clues the fastest and be triumphant.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust are a worthy partner at Lakeside providing educational sessions for occupiers, ongoing site support and endless knowledge to help conserve the amazing wildlife on site.

Open to all occupiers through the My Lakeside app.

Occupiers are invited to join in our VE Day celebrations which are taking place on Thursday 8 May from 12:00 – 14:00 on the Ornamental Lawn at Building 2000.

This year represents the 80th anniversary of VE day so to help celebrate we have booked a vocal duo from the Silhouette show to perform songs from the 1900′ through to 1960’s. Songs will span across two sets which include a VE Day Special (1900’s to the 1940’s) and a Vintage party set (1950’s – 1960’s, rock and roll, Motown style).

Victory in Europe (VE) Day celebrations are held to mark the day World War II ended in Europe after Germany’s unconditional surrender the previous day on May 7, 1945.

Occupiers are invited to join us on Tuesday 22 April on Earth Day 2025, to celebrate the completion of the Lakeside solar panel project, a light lunch will be served with the presentation starting at 1.30pm in The Blue Room.

The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth will be in attendance alongside Cllr Kimberley Barrett, who is the cabinet member for Climate Change and Environment.  Representatives from the Portsmouth City Council Energy Team will give details of the project and what this now means for Lakeside and the local community.
