Making our site greener and more sustainable

Update our latest new inititiatives

Site sustainability is one of our top priorities…

And caring for the environment is also one of Lakeside’s core values – from creating the right atmosphere for our occupier community, to driving sustainability and efficient use of our valuable resources.

Recent activity on site has included;

  • Starting work on a major solar project – one of the largest of its kind in the UK, with solar panels covering the buildings and car parks, plus a large battery storage facility, enabling us to generate green power for the site and save occupiers money!
  • Providing bird and wildlife habitats – working in partnership with The Hampshire Wildlife Trust, we’ve put up a considerable number of bird boxes, insect hotels and hedgehog houses around the site, as well as creating a special bird viewing seating area for occupiers to enjoy.
  • Planting more trees – over the last year we’ve planted 25 trees, which not only enhance our environment and provide pollen for our bees who live in their hives on site.
  • Offering more sustainable travel options – occupiers can now choose to travel to work by either our free shuttle bus service, Voi electric scooters or Beryl bikes and we’re also planning to launch a car share scheme soon too!

Over the last year we’ve undertaken many new initiatives, to ensure our site is sustainable and environmentally friendly – you can read more about our work and future plans here.
