Climax Studios move to Lakeside

Internationally respected video games developer relocates to Lakeside

Internationally respected video games developer, Climax Studios, has relocated its headquarters to Lakeside North Harbour, taking 24,000 sq ft of office space at Portsmouth’s flagship business campus.

Founded in the city over 35 years ago, Climax Studios, part of the Keywords group, is one of the UK’s most established development studios and works with global brands including Sony, Microsoft and Ubisoft.

The studio has played a key role in major franchises, including Age of Empires IV, Flight Simulator and Assassins Creed.

The move marks a significant milestone for both the company and the campus, reinforcing Lakeside’s position as a leading destination for innovative and high-growth businesses on the South Coast.

Climax Studios selected Lakeside for its modern workspace, strong transport connections, high-quality amenities and supportive onsite management team. The new headquarters will act as the company’s main base, supporting future growth and flexible working.

The 130 acre campus offers a wide range of amenities including food and beverage outlets, gyms and wellbeing facilities designed to support staff throughout the working week.

Simon Bateman, Asset Manager at Lakeside North Harbour, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Climax Studios to Lakeside. Their decision to base their headquarters here reflects the quality of the campus and the environment we have created for ambitious, growing businesses.

“It’s particularly pleasing to see a globally respected company with such strong Portsmouth roots choosing to continue its growth journey here in the city.”

Ben Potton, Head of Studios at Climax Studios, said: “As we enter the next phase of growth for the business, we needed a headquarters that could support our ambitions and our team.”
