Know when you work best
The benefits of working from home are that it allows more flexibility to your working day. Find out when you work best and take advantage of it – if you find that you are more productive during the mornings, sign in an hour early and get through those emails before everyone else signs in.
Set up an allocated workspace
Although working from the sofa can seem tempting, setting up an allocated workspace at a desk or the dining room table will mean higher productivity. If possible, try to keep work away from your bedroom – you need a space of relaxation and sanctuary to come back to at the end of the work day.
Take a lunch break
Give yourself a lunch break as you would during your normal working day – and make sure to step away from your laptop during this time too. Working from home can feel very monotonous so it’s important to break up the day. Consider using this time to exercise, cook a healthy lunch or practice some mindfulness techniques. When working from home it can be easy to pick up your laptop and work phone outside of office hours. If possible, try and stick to your traditional hours and put your laptop away at the end of your usual work day.
At the end of the day, take the time to get out for your daily dose of fresh air, and get your heart rate up with an at home workout. We know it can be hard to stay motivated, but Wiggle have been speaking to their ambassadors about how to stay positive.
Most importantly, stay safe and ensure that you are looking after yourself and loved ones during this time. Everyone at Lakeside North Harbour looks forward to welcoming you back very soon!
